Hello! My name is Haley Short, I am a sophomore majoring in communications, graduating in spring of 2023. My intentions for anyone who reads this handbook is to get a more accurate and personal look into what life will be like at UNE and how you can be successful and find the resources that you need. Personally, when I toured this school and others, I did not ask that many questions. Mostly because I was shy, but also because I didn’t know what to expect, and I didn’t know the kinds of questions I should have been asking. With this handbook, I hope any questions you have are answered, as well as any questions that you haven’t even thought to ask, without the pressure and with easy access. Within this handbook there is advice from students in all years, as well as tips from a professor as well as a coach. The perspectives from all are so unique that there will be something to resonate with every person who reads this. As someone who had no idea what they were doing when they began college, this is something I wish I had access to. I hope any incoming student who reads this knows that they are not alone, and that college is a learning experience for everyone.
